NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
University Grant Commission considers Extension as the third dimension of higher education system. The National Service Scheme which was launched in 1969 has been serving this aspect of higher education in India. The scheme envisages to link the college to the community by deploying the student youth resources on selected community development activities. The students interface with the community provides the much needed relevance of the class room learning to the mass aspirations.
The NSS became operational in Karnataka State Law University from the current financial year 2010-11.
A total of 5000 volunteers are enrolled in 87 law colleges under KSLU.
