Dr. Ratna Bharamagoudar

  Dr.Ratna R. Bharamgoudar, graduated from Karnatak University, Dharwad in 1991. She persued her studies in Law at the University College of Law and completed LL.B. in 1994. She obtained Master’s Degree in Law from Karnatak University, Dharwad in 1996, specializing in Mercantile Law.  She holds a Doctorate in Law from Karnatak University, Dharwad on the topic “A Critical Study of Protection of Women against Domestic Violence in India”.   

  Dr.Ratna R. Bharamgoudar, has taught law for 16 years.  She joined Karnatak University in the year 1999.  She has discharged additional charge as Director, Research Centre for Women’s Studies, Karnatak University, Dharwad, for the past 4 years.  She has also been member of Committee for Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace, Women’s Grievance Cell and Women’s Welfare Board, Karnatak University, Dharwad.

      Being keenly interested in gender studies, she has delivered several lectures as visiting faculty for specialized courses and training programs focusing mainly on gender issues, at the Karnatak University, various national institutions and NGOs. She has participated as resource person in many seminars and workshops and has presented papers at several National and International Conferences.  She also has to her credit many research articles in reputed Law journals and has published two books.  She is actively involved in research activity and is guiding research scholars for their Ph.D. programme. She has undertaken a UGC research project on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace.
