COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

The college development council (CDC) plays a key role in the establishment and development of affiliated and constituent and development of affiliated and constituent colleges of the University functions under the joint guidance of University authorities and University Grant Commission (UGC). It provides link between the UGC, University and the colleges. It looks after the development of as many as 92 colleges comes under the purview of CDC.

Functions

  • Dissemination of information regarding assistance and schemes available to colleges from UGC and other funding agencies, promotion of seeking funds and monitoring proper utilization of funds received.
  • Facilities inclusion of colleges under 2(f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act 1956.
  • Envisages programs to enhance the quality of higher education.
  • Monitor implementation of directions/guidelines of UGC/central and state governments.
  • Undertakes evaluation of the impact of UGC funds on the colleges under the development projects.
  • Assists the University in affiliation processes related to colleges.
  • Facilities the college teachers to pursue research in India/abroad under Faculty Development Program leading to M.Phil. And Ph.D.
  • CDC also helps colleges to get funds from UGC for sports and other extracurricular activities.
  • Facilities the college teachers to avail Major and Minor Research Projects from UGC and other funding agencies.
