International Law Summit
Maitreyi Hegde, student of VI semester, B.A., LL.B took part in International Law Summit conducted by Government Law College, Mumbai in associated with Nishit Desai Assocaites, AZB Partners, Bharucha & Partners etc., on 3rd, 4th and 5th February of 2012. She participated and presented the critique in ‘Treaty appreciation Competition’ where the legal luminary Prof. David Ambrose was one of the special rapporteur for the sessions. Her critique got quiet appreciation from fellow participants and rapportuers. Students from various law colleges across Asia, Legal celebrities and academicians participated in summit.
International Conference on Access to Legal Information and Research in the Digital Age, organized by National Law University, Delhi
Ms. Pranusha Kulkarni, a 3rd year B.B.A., LL.B. student, presented her research paper titled “Web 2.0-enabled Legal Revolution in India: Why and How India will climb the ladder of astounding success”, in the International Conference on Access to Legal Information and Research in the Digital Age, organized by National Law University, Delhi in partnership with Mohan Law House, Delhi and SAARCLAW, from February 29 to March 2, 2012.
She received the Best Paper Award at the Conference.
Learning Through Teaching Competition
J.S.S.’s Sakri Law College, Heggeri Hubli, conducted a ‘Learning Through Teaching Competition’ on 12-11-2011 for Law Students. The method adopted for the Competition was talk and chalk. The time allotted was 20 mins. Best Teachers awarded was bagged by 2 students of Law School Miss Pranusha Kulkarni and Aditi Joshi. The competition reiterated that a teacher cannot be substituted by technology.
Man has Become a Slave of Modern Technology Debate Competition
Raja Lakhamgouda Law College Tilakwadi Belgaum, organised Inter- Collegiate Debate Competition in Kannada as well as English. It was held under the banner of Majali Memorial and Bemibalgi Shield Debates. The English topic was “Man has become a Slave of Modern Technology”. Two teams from Law School one in English and one in Kannada participated in the Debates. The rolling Shield for debate in English was bagged by Miss Aditi Joshi and Miss Pranusha Kulkarni from Law School. Miss Maitreyi Hegde and Anusha M.V. participated in the Kannada Debate.Honourable V.C.Sir appreciated the prize winners. It was a prestigious matter for the students to have won the Majali Memorial and Bembalgi Rolling Shield.
